How do I set my profile to private?
- Make sure that you are logged into your account
- Click on the “Home” link in the top level navigation menu from any MySpace page
- Click “Account Settings” located next to your primary MySpace image
- Click on the “Privacy” link underneath “Settings: Account”
- Click the radio button next to “My friends only” in the “Profile Viewable By” category
- Click the “Save All Changes” button to complete
Someone on MySpace is bugging/harassing/threatening me. What can I do about it?
- Block the individual from contacting you by clicking on the “Block User” button located in the user’s contact box.
- Do not respond to messages from the individual.
- Keep copies of messages and correspondence from the individual.
- Send an email to cyberbullyreport@myspace.com describing the situation and providing as much information as possible

Someone is pretending to be me – what do I do?
Send an email to imposterreport@myspace.com that includes a link to your profile, a link to the profile pretending to be you and a “salute”.
A salute is an image of you holding a sign with the term “MySpace.com” and your Friend ID number clearly visible in your own handwriting. (Your Friend ID number appears immediately after “friendID=” in the web address / URL when viewing your profile.) They can then remove the profile that uses your image without permission.
How do I delete my account?
If you wish to permanently terminate your MySpace account, perform the following steps:
- Log into your account
- Click the “Home” link on the top level navigation menu of any MySpace page.
- Click on “Account Settings” located next to your primary MySpace image
- Under the “Account Cancellation” category, click on “Cancel Account”
An email will be sent to the email address registered with the account to confirm you want to delete it. You must follow the directions in the email to complete the process.
Where do I report underage users?
If you believe you have seen a user under 14 years of age on MySpace.com, or a user who is 14 though 17 years of age and is representing themselves as 18 or older, please send an email to underagereport@myspace.com. Please include a web address / URL to the account in question.
How do I remove my child’s profile from MySpace.com?
Please work with your child to log in and remove the account. Once you are logged into MySpace.com perform the following steps:
- Click the “Home” link on the top level navigation menu of any MySpace page.
- Click on “Account Settings” located next to your primary MySpace image
- Under the “Account Cancellation” category, click on “Cancel Account”
An email will be sent to the email address registered with the account to confirm you want to delete it. You must follow the directions in the email to complete the process.
If you do not receive the confirmation email, please remove all content from your child’s profile. In the “About Me” section of the profile, enter “Remove Profile”. This allows MySpace to know you have control of your child’s account. Next, send the web address / URL of your child’s profile to parentcare@myspace.com with a note requesting that the account be removed.
What if my minor child will not cooperate in removing his or her account?
