Regina “Gina” Carey heads the Office of the Prosecutors Advisory Council. Carey has served as the executive director for the Office of the Prosecutors Advisory Council at the Office of the Attorney General. She joined the Office of the Attorney General, Prosecutors Advisory Council division as an accountant. She has served the Prosecutors Advisory Council in nearly every position in the division throughout the past 25 years including overseeing the implementation of PAC’s electronic records management, electronic mail system, case management system project and the Kentucky Prosecutors Intranet site. She developed the original process for collecting the data and compiling the first three Child Sexual Abuse Prosecution Data reports for the Prosecutors Advisory Council as required by Kentucky law (KRS 15.706). She developed the internal accounting, inventory and payroll databases for administration of the Unified Prosecutorial System budget. She routinely worked with the Council members to provide material for testimony before legislative committees regarding statewide budget decisions and fiscal issues impacting prosecutors. During her one-year term as deputy project manager for the Unified Criminal Justice Information System (UCJIS) project, she participated in the management of several projects including the replacement of the Kentucky State Police criminal justice information system, eWarrants white papervand wireless data for law enforcement. She also previously served as acting chief information officer for the Office of the Attorney General.
