Attorney General Stumbo Seeks Release of Public Service Commission Report

FRANKFORT, KY (February 17, 2006) – Attorney General Greg Stumbo filed a renewed motion for the release of the Attorney General’s Investigative Report regarding the Public Service Commission’s (PSC) historic $101 million rate increase to LG&E/KU.

The investigation examined whether the PSC’s method of operations fosters improper relationships between regulated utilities and the PSC.

On January 27, 2006, State Representative Darryl Owens sent a letter to Attorney General Stumbo requesting a copy of the investigative report. Attorney General Stumbo is asking the Court to release the investigative report to the General Assembly for use in its oversight of the PSC’s operation.

A hearing is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2006, in Franklin Circuit Court. Copies of the motion are available in the Attorney General’s office.
